Hungarian English Translation and Interpretation Services is a New York–based boutique firm offering high-quality, certified translation and interpretation services in Hungarian and English accepted both by US authorities including USCIS, court system, or DMV.
With over 15 years of experience, we serve a diverse client base across the United States and internationally — including individuals, law firms, courts, government agencies, banks, hospitals, academia, law enforcement, and the film industry.
The firm was founded by Patrícia Eszter Margit, a seasoned translator, interpreter, and writer with academic credentials from Columbia University (International Relations and Public Administration) and ELTE University, Budapest (M.S. in Sociology, M.A. in Communications). Her 20+ years of experience in journalism, writing, and editing — in both English and Hungarian — bring a rare depth of linguistic and cultural fluency to every project.
Our credentials include:
✅ Officially listed interpreter-translator for Hungarian Consulates in the United States.
✅ Registered court interpreter in New York, New Jersey, Florida, Maryland, and with immigration, USCIS and Federal Courts
✅ Member of the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators and the New York Circle of Translators (ATA affiliate)
✅ Freelance translator for the Department of Justice – FBI Criminal Division.
Beyond translation, we are deeply engaged in the Hungarian-American community. We regularly volunteer and train through HungarianHub, and have contributed editorial work to the 2020 publication “7 Tips for Building a Strong Hungarian Community in America,” authored by Piros Pazaurek, Honorary Consul of Hungary in Florida.

I am an experienced cultural manager - the Art Kibbutz International Art Colony, founded in 2011, has brought more than 400 artists from 29 countries to the U.S.. We only support visual and performing artists like literaries or filmmakers. We have worked with prominent New York cultural institutions such as 92nd Street Y or Governor’s Island and collaborated with the New Museum, Lincoln Center, or the Center for Fiction.
